About Us

Welcome to the Cycle Arts Renfrewshire Website

This site aims to celebrate Renfrewshire’s Cycle Routes and the creative engagements and biodiversity that can be found along this unique urban and rural Network. We aim to encourage everyone to cycle and walk more, to explore our Cycle routes, to take a closer look at our natural world and value these unique local environments. Recognising climate change, adapting to it and changing how we engage and value our natural world is becoming much more important for our future.

Renfrewshire hosts one of the most beautiful off road cycle paths in Scotland on the R7 section between Paisley and Lochwinnoch and this route now hosts an annual Cycle Arts Festival.

Place Partnership Renfrewshire in collaboration with Cycling organisations and local arts and community partners delivered the first Cycle Arts Festival in August 2021.

The Festival presents a series of outdoor arts and environmental engagements which link to local places and communities to celebrate and recognise the value of our unique environments. The festival pushes boundaries of creativity in terms of what kind of activities can be delivered outside.

Our partners include Sustrans, Cycling UK, OneRen, Renfrewshire Council, Lochwinnoch Arts Festival  and all the local groups who use the routes have enabled these remarkable Cycle paths to flourish. The work of Sustrans volunteers in maintaining and clearing the litter from the paths is so important in the urban and rural areas in Renfrewshire.

We are looking for your contributions to this website, we invite you to add to the story of the Renfrewshire Cycle Routes.

Tell us about your experiences along the Renfrewshire cycle routes, join our Instagram and send us your images of the wildlife you have seen along the route.
