SUMMARY:Guided Cycle Ride from Lochwinnoch to the Spout of Garnock Waterfall & back
DESCRIPTION:Intro \nTake a trip along the cycle path running from Lochwinnoch – and beyond! \nThis ride will begin at Lochwinnoch Visitor’s Centre. We will then ride to Spout of Garnock Waterfall\, and back along the same route\, finishing up back at Lochwinnoch Visitor’s Centre. \n  \nExtra Info \nTrained Bike ride leaders will guide the group along the cycle route. \n  \nYou’ll require your own bike to take part in these cycle rides. Please check that your bike is in good working condition before coming along for the ride. \n  \nThese rides aren’t recommended for children\, though they are welcome to come along as long as they are accompanied by a responsible adult and are willing to cycle for several miles for two hours. \n  \nAlthough the group will aim to arrive back at the end point at the time suggested\, we would like to make it clear that some rides can take a little longer. For evening rides all participants bikes will be required to have functional lights. \n  \nPlease arrive 10 minutes before the start time for safety information to be taken and for bikes to be checked. Rides are weather dependent and may be subject to cancellation if conditions are unsafe. All attendees will receive an email prior to the ride if it has had to be cancelled. \n  \n– \n  \nThese led rides were made possible by funding awarded by Cycling UK’s Shift grant. \nCycle Arts Renfrewshire is funded by Place Partnership based at OneRen. Here you will get to meet the artist and learn more about their process and research. \n  \nDisability History Month \nBetween 16 November and 16 December 2022\, a series of art installations and events celebrating Disability History Month will be hosted along traffic-free National Cycle Network routes in Scotland. \nThe four pieces created along the National Cycle Network celebrate notable disabled people\, movements\, and locations from Scotland’s history that have made it the country it is today. \nHector is a self-taught artist who works across textiles\, performance and social engagement. \nBased in Glasgow\, their art takes a DIY approach and often involves working with other people. ‘It Is A Long Lane That Has No Turning’ is a series of woven panels which tells the story of Scottish weavers\, specifically those in Paisley and Glasgow\, and the disabilities they developed through their trade. \nHector’s focus is the societies and trade unions they created to support one another. \n \nFind out more \n  \nThe Led Walk \nPlease arrive at Paisley Canal Station Station at 11.45am ready to head off at 12 noon. \nThe route will go along the National Cycle Network on traffic-free paths. We will keep to a leisurely pace that everyone is comfortable with. We will return the same way ending at Spoons Cafe on Causeyside Road. \nWe welcome wheelchair users and people who use mobility aids. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss the the suitability of the route. \nFurther information \n\nThe walk will be at a leisurely pace in order to accommodate everyone\nThe walk is led and supervised by qualified Sustrans walk leaders at all times\nPlease bring weather-appropriate clothing\, snacks\, and water\n\nThese walks are run by Sustrans\, the charity making it easier for people to walk\, wheel and cycle. Please check that your bike is in good working condition before coming along for the ride. \n  \nThese rides aren’t recommended for children\, though they are welcome to come along as long as they are accompanied by a responsible adult and are willing to cycle for several miles for two hours. \n  \nAlthough the group will aim to arrive back at the end point at the time suggested\, we would like to make it clear that some rides can take a little longer. For evening rides all participants bikes will be required to have functional lights. \n  \nPlease arrive 10 minutes before the start time for safety information to be taken and for bikes to be checked. Rides are weather dependent and may be subject to cancellation if conditions are unsafe. Activities and events are designed for audiences of all ages and will promote accessibility with assisted rides and trail tours.
