SUMMARY:Vista di Ninfa by Sita Pieraccini: Installation
DESCRIPTION:Intro\nA Forest: an eclectic programme of music\, performance\, workshops around ideas of changing landscape happening at Courtshaw Hill throughout the duration of Cycle Arts Festival. \nIn her performances and projects\, Sita Pieraccini playfully invites the audience into an active re-enchantment of the senses. Vista di Ninfa is a series of prints inspired by looking at organic matter from the local biome under microscopes. Before reaching the Courtshaw Hill Viewpoint in Parkhill Woods\, audiences enter a small clearing with a huge tree in the centre. Surrounding the tree are seven elemental prints.  \nVista di Ninfa draws on Sita’s recent collaboration with artist Jamie Wardrop in their live performance work\, Strange Loop. In this piece\, Sita sings open portals to worlds within worlds\, led by the ever evolving\, projected microscopic imagery co-created with the audience in a playful attempt to facilitate a reconnection to the magical continuity to all living organisms.  \nSita Pieraccini is a performer\, maker and musician from Lochwinnoch. Her background in theatre\, therapeutic clowning\, video and music inform the creation of her work. Sita is excited to be presenting her installation\, Vista di Ninfa at this year’s festival and dedicates it to her mum\, Alison Anne Pieraccini\, whose beautiful drawings and paintings of faeries have inspired her in the making of this series.   \n  \nAbout the artist\nSita Pieraccini  is a performer from Lochwinnoch. Her experience as an actor\, therapeutic clown and musician in a mixture of traditional theatre\, contemporary performance\, live music and hospital settings inspire the creation of her work. She often collaborates with visual and sound artists exploring a deconstructed language of physical performance that playfully invites the audience into an active re-enchanting of the senses\, shared histories and real and/or imagined realms. \n  \nDate/Location\n1st – 7th August. Permanent installation throughout the festival week\, Courtshaw Hill. \nCourtshaw Hill Viewpoint is located in quite an exposed location with a short but steep climb to the top along a dedicated footpath.   \nPlease wear clothing suitable for the weather conditions on the day\, including suitable footwear for moderate hill climbing and waterproofs in case of rain. For longer events there will be seating available but please be aware that it will be allocated on a first come first served basis. The nearest toilet facilities are located at Castle Semple Visitor centre\, so please bear this in mind when attending events.
